This SoCal Life
It really doesn’t feel like it has been that long, and believe it or not, there are still times when I feel like I just got here. I recently made my way back to New Jersey, and I got the chance to spend a few days around my old stomping grounds and even spent some time in New York City.
After four days in my home state and a quick trip to NYC, it reminded me of all the places I neglected to explore back when I was living there. I went from living in one of the smallest states in the U.S. to one of the largest. The short time I spent in NYC made me realized how much of the city I left unexplored, and with California being such a huge state, I guess that’s probably part of the reason why I feel like I just got here.
That was three months ago…
In the nine years that I’ve lived in SoCal, I feel like I’ve seen and done a fair share.
I’ve played tourist all over Hollywood and Downtown LA, relaxed with style in Palm Springs and even went wine tasting in a castle in Napa Valley. I’ve also walked a cell in Alcatraz, toured breweries in San Diego, revived my inner child at Disneyland, and went camping for the very first time. And when I need to let loose, in the blink of an eye, I can enjoy the bright lights and nightlife of Las Vegas.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more to explore, and I feel like I’m just getting started.
